Manage Manufacturers

A manufacturer is an organization that creates the products that you own as assets. The manufacturer record helps you to describe a product that you own or plan to acquire.

To view the list of existing manufacturers, navigate to MANAGE> ADMINISTRATION> Tools> Asset> Manufacturers.

Search Manufacturers

When you want to locate one or more manufacturers, use the search tool. The search tool lets you locate any manufacturer in the database. Provide the manufacturer name as search criteria. Based on the search criteria that you specify, a list of matching manufacturers appear in the search results. Double-clicking a name of a manufacturer displays information about the manufacturer in the manufacturer information page.

Create Manufacturers

Serviceaide Intelligent Service Management lets you define manufacturer records for the entities that manufacture IT products. For example, you can define Dell as a manufacturer.

Follow these steps:

Log in to the application as an Administrator.
Navigate to MANAGE> ADMINISTRATION> Tools> Asset> Manufacturers> and click New Manufacturer.
Note: Alternatively and you can click Actions and can select Create Manufacturer from the drop-down list.
Specify the name of the Manufacturer.
Example: Dell India Ltd
Specify the Alias Name.
(Optional) Enter the Description.
Enter the Website of the manufacturer.
Select the Fiscal Year Ends.
Click Save.

You have successfully created a manufacturer.

You can also bulk import the manufacturer records using the bulk import template for asset models. See Bulk Import for more information.

You can export the list of manufacturers by using the following options:

Print to PDF
Export to CSV

Edit Manufacturers

To edit the properties of a manufacturer, select the manufacturer and click the Edit Manufacturer in New Tab option from the drop-down list. The editor dialog for that manufacturer displays, where you can change the manufacturers properties.

Note: Alternatively you can also use the Edit Manufacturer in New Workspace Window, to edit properties of the manufacturer in a new window.
