Deactivate a Skill

Use this option to inactivate a skill. When a skill is set to Inactive it cannot be triggered through a conversation with Luma and will not be shown in the Welcome Skill. The user will get a permission denied error when trying to trigger an inactive Skill using an utterance that aligns to the Skill. Administrators can still use the Test Bot feature in Skills Builder to test inactive Skills.

Note

Inactive skills cannot be tested using the test bot from the Skills Builder. This is because when the skill is inactivated in the skills builder, the skills builder will be removed from the NLP engine so that the user typing a phrase will not match to the inactivated skills.

To access the Inactivate a skill go to Bots > Skills Page > Details tab.

An Administrator can use this option for the following scenarios:

If the skill is under development.
If the skill is not working properly.
In case the administrator does not want to support that skill for a particular time period.
The following image shows the list of skills with status ACTIVE and INACTIVE.
