Test your Bot
An administrator should test the bot's skills during skill development. The Bot Testing feature helps ensure that skill matching, the conversation flow, and fulfillment are working as intended by simulating the user experience.Â
To access Bot Testing, click the Bot Testing icon as shown below. This opens the Test Widget.
Bot Testing using the Test Widget
Use the Test Widget to validate skills before making them available to users. Administrators and Developers can chat with the bot by entering messages and receiving responses directly in the Bot Builder interface. To do so:
- Click Bot Testing to open a conversation with the bot in a testing panel on the same page.
You can test user phrases, prompts, rules, fulfillment, and more while the testing panel is open. System skills such as the Welcome Skill, Small Talk and more can also be validated. - Start conversation
- Enter a user phrase in the test widget.
- Bot Testing responds with the skill that the NLP engine determines is the best match for the phrase.
- Test the skill and see the conversation flow, fulfillment, and post-integration response, if any.
