Automate Tasks Using Predefined Content
Automation Center is only available in the ISM Service Management edition. This feature is not available in the ISM Service Desk edition.
This section helps you understand how to automate tasks using predefined content:
Automation allows you to automate various tasks using connectors, workflows, and process flows. Workflows and connectors are of two types, predefined and custom. Predefined Workflows, predefined connectors, and predefined credentials are provided when you create your slice as a guideline of the various operations service automation supports.
The application provides in built and App connectors to perform various operations. Each connector is a component which connects to the external systems and performs automation tasks. You can create workflows and can use connectors to perform various operations and automate tasks. For more information about how to create workflows, see How to Create a Workflow. During the process of automating workflows, you need to set up credentials that each connector requires to connect to external systems. You may require to Set up the Point of Presence server to connect to some of your on-premise systems. If you plan to use such systems, install the Point of Presence Server.
You can use this capability to:
- Learn about predefined connectors, their operations, credentials, Input, and Output parameters.
- How to create and monitor workflows using the predefined connectors.
- Integrate workflows with process flows
