Building a knowledge repository is the first step towards implementing Knowledge Management in an organization. This includes identifying any existing Knowledge Base in the organization and the areas that need new Knowledge.
With a simple Knowledge Building process, Luma Knowledge enables Curators to import existing documents, media files, Webpages to create Knowledge artifacts. Luma Knowledge can also integrate with 3rd party Knowledge repositories in an organization and allow end-users to capitalize on existing knowledge in the organization.
Building Knowledge involves the following steps:
The curator starts with Building Topic Hierarchy for the Artifact. This is achieved by identifying or creating the Domain and related Topics for the Artifact. The next step is to create the artifact by either importing a document or a web URL or manually filling the details in a pre-defined template. Once the artifact is added, the curator ensures that the Artifact is linked to the required Topic and the related metadata is correct. The Curator also tests the artifact in Search Widget, using various questions that an end-user might ask when looking for the information in the artifact. The Metadata is adjusted till the artifact appears in suitable search results. The artifact can now be published and made available to end-users.
