Follows these steps:

1. Navigate to MANAGE, ADMINISTRATION, Tools, MANAGE> ADMINISTRATION> Tools> and click Custom Asset/CI Attribute Templates.
2. Change the search filter to include System Defined and search.
3. Select the template to which you want to add new attributes. 
   Note: Click Create New, if no attributes are created.

4. Add the attribute to the specific template.

5. Select the check box Add During Creation and Update existing Assets/CI?, to add the new attribute to the existing/new assets.
   You have successfully added the new attributes to the asset template.
