View Last Log in Time of the user

The Administrator can view the last log in time of the user, navigate to MANAGE> TOOLS> USERS. This is helpful to quickly understand if a user is using their Named License. If they are not, it may be an opportunity to assign it to a different user or switch that user to a Concurrent license.

Concurrent

This type of license is shared across a group of IT analysts or administrators who need to manage tickets, processes, system behavior, and reports. The number of Concurrent licenses a company purchases defines the maximum number of users with a Concurrent license that can be logged in to the application simultaneously. This type of license is great for companies that operate in shifts where one shift would log out and another shift would come online. Also, this license works well for teams that have level 2 teams who log in occasionally and can share a license.

Assigning Concurrent user licenses is not restricted, but the number of concurrent users that can log in at the same time must not exceed the specified limit. The number of concurrent licenses a company purchases, defines the maximum number of concurrent license users who can log in to the application simultaneously.

When a user logs into CSM they begin a session and hold onto that session until they logout, timeout or the Administrator terminates the session. An administrator can optionally manage sessions. The usage of sessions is restricted for Named and Concurrent users and they can have up to two sessions at the same time.

Manage Sessions

Using the Manage Sessions page, an administrator can view all active sessions (user's that are currently logged into the application) and log off a user who is idle for a long time. This allows for more control of sessions and concurrent licenses.

  1. Navigate to MANAGE> TOOLS> MANAGE SESSIONS
  2. Select the check box in the first left column to specify the user 
  3. Click Log out user.

Usage of session for Named users:

A named user can access two web sessions and unlimited mobile sessions at any time. 

Usage of sessions for Concurrent users:

A concurrent user can access two web sessions and unlimited mobile sessions. If the concurrent user log in counts are less than the specified limit, the user gets an alert before logging in.

For example, If the user (Named/Concurrent) is logged in to Cloud Service Management in the Chrome browser and also in Firefox, the user will not be allowed to log in to Cloud Service Management in Safari at the same time. The user will get an alert before logging in to the session and will be asked to logout one or both of the existing sessions.
