Create a Nimsoft User

The nsdgtw requires a Nimsoft user for its operations. This Nimsoft user is used only for assigning the alarms that are generated in the Infrastructure Manager.

Field NameDescription
Log LevelSet the minimum acceptable level of details to be written to the log file. Log as little as possible during normal operation to minimize disk consumption. You can increase the amount of detail when debugging and can reset it to a minimal level later.
nas address

Specify the address of the local Nimsoft Alarm Server (NAS) in this format:

 /<Domain>/<Hub>/<Robot>/nas

Note: The NAS address is case-sensitive.

Server URL

The URL of the web service for the CA Cloud Service Management server.

Username/PasswordThe credentials for the web services user account that is defined in CA Cloud Service Management.
Test buttonTest the network access between the nsdgtw probe and CA Cloud Service Management. When you click the Test button, the gateway attempts to log in to the CA Cloud Service Management server. If the attempt is successful, the indicator turns Green. Else, the indicator turns Red.
Assigned UserSpecify the assigned user (Nimsoft User) created in NAS. See Create a Nimsoft User for more details.
Requester NameSpecify the name of the requester. This is a CA Cloud Service Management user name.
Requester OrganizationSpecify the name of the organization of the requester.
Check IntervalSpecify the interval between checks for closed incidents in CA Cloud Service Management. When the operator in CA Cloud Service Management closes an incident, nsdgtw probe clears the corresponding alarm.
Check Now buttonCheck for closed incidents in CA Cloud Service Management, in real time.
Time ZoneSpecify the time zone code (such as GMT, IST, and PST). The probe can be configured to use a time zone other than the server time zone. Use this field to ensure that the time zones in nsdgtw probe and the server are synchronized.

Note: The default time zone is GMT.

Incident ID Custom FieldEnter the custom field (custom1…custom5) in which the Incident ID generated on the server is displayed.
Auto Assign AlarmsThis option enables the Alarm Filters button.
Edit Alarm Severity button

Edit the severity of alarms. The selected severity level is mapped with the Severity field of CA Cloud Service Management.

Note: By default, equivalent Alarm Severity is selected.

Fields Mapping button

Map CA Cloud Service Management custom fields with Nimsoft alarm fields. To edit an existing mapping:

  1. Double-click the existing record.
  2. Select the new custom fields for mapping.
  3. Click the Update button.

Note: The Alarm Fields selector is disabled while editing.

To delete an existing mapping, select the desired record and click the Remove button.

 Alarm Filters buttonSelect the filter criteria for creating incidents in CA Cloud Service Management automatically from the alarms. This field is enabled only when Auto Assign Alarm is selected.
