To add attributes to assets, update the Custom Asset/CI Attribute Template. The Custom Asset/CI Attribute Templates are applied to the assets based on the model of the asset. For example, an asset is of the model Dell Latitude M 4700, if that model has CCTI Hardware Server then the Hardware Server template is applied to that asset. For more information, see Manage Models. Follows these steps:
- Navigate to MANAGE, ADMINISTRATION, Tools, MANAGE> ADMINISTRATION> Tools> and click Custom Asset/CI Attribute Templates.
- Change the search filter to include System Defined and search.
- Select the template to which you want to add new attributes.
Note: Click Create New, if no attributes are created. Add the attribute to the specific template.
Select the check box Add During Creation and Update existing Assets/CI?, to add the new attribute to the existing/new assets.
You have successfully added the new attributes to the asset template.
