Build and Publish process is used to train the bot on conversations and Skills designed on Luma. It ensures that Luma VA understands the user request and processes it as requested.

The Build and Publish process allows publishing any new changes made to Skills or Attributes, and make them available to the bot. The activity must be run in the following scenarios:

  1. Creation of a Skill

  2. Changes to User Phrases on Skills

  3. New Attribute (global) created

  4. Value, Synonym, and Regex Changes to an Attribute

  5. Updates to Small Talk and System Skill

  6. Change the Skill status to Active or Inactive

Bot prompts the administrator when a Build and Publish run is required. A Red dot next to the Build and Publish option indicates that there are one or more items Pending for Publish

The following message banner also appears on the Build and Publish page, in case there are items awaiting Publishing.

You may also see the pending items in the Skill Builder list and Attribute List with Pending for Publishing status. Any of the aforementioned updates are not available for users until they are published.

To Build & Publish the changes, follow the below steps:

  1. Go to the left navigation pane and then select Build and Publish.

  2. Click Build & Publish button on the Build & Publish screen.

  3. The execution status changes to In Progress

  4. Once the process is completed, a success message is displayed.

  5. Updated Skills or Attributes are ready for use.

A toast message is displayed to you when the Build and Publish process is Started and Completed. The indicator on the left navigation changes to the 'Blue' dot, which represents Ongoing Build and Publish activity.

You can continue to make changes on the skill builder while the Build and Publish process is In Progress.
