Migrating Classic Designer Skills to Visual Designer
In Luma, Visual Designer presents a user-friendly interface, enabling skill developers to craft skills effortlessly using drag-and-drop simplicity. Visual Designer skills boast visually engaging and easily comprehensible designs. The migration of skills from Classic Designer not only elevates the aesthetics but also streamlines the process, ensuring developers benefit from an intuitive and user-friendly experience, enhancing overall efficiency and ease of skill development.
To migrate skills to Visual Designer skill, follow the below steps:
On the Skill List, open the Classic Designer skill to be migrated.
On the Skill details screen, click on "Migrate to Visual Designer".
A confirmation pop-up appears. Click "Continue" to migrate the skill.
This triggers skill migration. All the steps are automatically converted to visual designer constructs and added sequentially.
The skill is now converted to Visual designer skill.
It is recommended that you test the skill thoroughly to ensure the functionality of the skill remains as is.
In Classic Designer, clearing an attribute restarts the execution of the skill from the attribute. If your Classic skill uses clear attribute to conditionally start skill from a specific step, your skill may not work as expected. Post-migration to Visual designer, you must create a link to the step after clearing the attribute .
No additional training is required.
Once migrated, you can restore the skill back to Classic Designer. If the migrated skill does not perform as expected, the skills developer can restore the skill back to the classic designer.
On the skill details screen, click on "Restore to Classic Designer".
Â
On the Confirmation pop-up screen, click "Yes".
Â
The last saved classic designer configuration will be stored.
Once the skill is rolled back to the Classic designer, any changes made to the skill in Visual Designer will be lost.
